A Conversation with Phoenix Mercury's Celeste Taylor

Plus, Unrivaled's final week, Sophia Wilson's announcement

Good morning, and happy Friday to all.

A few weeks ago, I had met chatted with second-year guard Celeste Taylor, who just wrapped up her first season in Sydney, Australia, playing for the Sydney Flames of the WNBL.

It was 11 a.m. her time and 7 p.m. my time, but we made it happen, dammit.

Earlier this week, Winsidr dropped the long form feature on Taylor, who is prepping for Year 2 in the WNBA with the Phoenix Mercury.

Be sure to check it out.

For the Walking Bucket, I wanted to give people a look at the entire conversation – including parts that didn't make the final written piece.

We discussed:

  • Shoes
  • Life after Diana Taurasi
  • Her first camp
  • Culture shocks of Australia
  • More

It's about 18-19 minutes of conversation between us, so sit back and enjoy.

One More Week of Unrivaled

Unrivaled is entering its final week of regular season play, starting with tonight's slate of games. The top four teams will reach the playoffs, with the Lunar Owls and Rose clinching respective berths already.

The Vinyl, Mist, and Laces are all battling for the final two spots, and we'll know by Monday night who will make the playoffs.

I cover Unrivaled at Winsidr Patreon (free to join).

Check it out as the league's first year of play comes to an end.

Sophia Wilson is Expecting

Congrats to Sophia and Mike Wilson, who announced that they are expecting a child.

The Portland Thorns' and USWNT star made the announcement on Instagram on Wednesday, March 5.

Hell yeah.

Until Next Time

Keep an eye out on your mailbox for the next Walking Bucket.

Until next time.

I love you awesome nerds.
